Midi music file arrived from Andy on Saturday. Just over 7 mins of brass entertainment. From the music and our various visits, the group got together on Monday to develop some of the ideas. I have been working on the storyboard the rest of the week.
I was trying to describe this collaboration to Dave Whetstone of the Newcastle Journal, who is writing a piece about it (should be published in next week's "Culture" mag - out next Tuesday), and he thought that it sounded extraordinary and different and couldn't imagine how it would work - we'll see. Seems to be going OK so far.
Ear to Ground, Eye to Sky (E2G) is a music and video project about the North Pennines. Composer Andy Jackson will work with the local community to compose a piece of music for Stanhope Silver Band and His Majesty's Sagbutts & Cornetts. Digital artist Rachel Clarke from Twisted Digits will work with volunteers from Museums Live! to create an animation which will reflect the North Pennines landscape and its people. Commissioned through the North Pennines AONB Partnership's Living North Pennines project and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, E2G will take place between September and October 2009.
